Wabash Arts Corridor 2016


The Wabash Arts Corridor (WAC), Chicago’s new center of public art, presents the 2016 WAC Crawl, a free public event along Wabash Avenue from Congress Parkway to Roosevelt Road. This year’s celebration features exhibitions, performances and events from businesses and major cultural and educational institutions in the South Loop and coincides with Columbia Weekend, Columbia College Chicago’s signature “welcome back” event of the Fall semester.

WAC Crawl highlights include:

  • WAC Crawl Dance Extravaganza
  • Guided WAC Big Walls Tour
  • Live mural painting by student JJ McLuckie in the alley behind 600 S. Michigan Ave.
  • Skillshot: The Collaborative Art of Pinball Exhibition and Pinball Tournament
  • Game Art vs. Art Game Exhibition and Game Night
  • Game On: Tabletop, Card, Board Game Art
  • Cut-throat Illustration
  • Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra: Chamber Music at the WAC Crawl
  • Interactive Arts and Media Game Display
  • WAC at Buddy Guy’s
  • Jazz on the Patio: Tour and beer tasting at 1001 S. State
  • Culinary Cultural Crawl: Near South Planning Board’s guide to food/drink of the WAC
  • In addition to blues, rock, and acoustic music; traditional and contemporary dance; fashion, film screenings, spoken word, and a pop-up art store, South Loop businesses will offer food and drink specials.
